This is an unframed original oil painting, entitled "Ivy League." It is signed by me "Judith Rhue" and dated "2011" in the lower right corner. It is also painted on the sides.
Neutral shades in this painting would add a nice touch to the decor surrounding anyone who enjoys a good, old-fashioned book. While I painted it, I imagined it in a scholar's office, study or student's room.
The inspiration for this painting came from my contribution to a retirement party planning committee for the farewell celebration of a dear friend, who loves to read. We used books with an ivy topper and a few roses as the table centerpieces.
Quality, professional grade oil paints and refined linseed oil were used on a stretched, gallery wrap, 100% cotton duck canvas.
