New Year's Eve Sunset Becomes Japan Rising

New Year's Eve Sunset/Japan Rising
On New Year's Eve in 2008, we took a drive on the rural roads of Northeastern Pennsylvania.  As we headed home, the sun was setting behind snow-covered mountains.   I painted my interpretation of what I saw that evening and entitled the piece, "New Year's Eve Sunset."

Now, in 2011, the same painting speaks to me as "Japan Rising."     Even with all of the devastation caused by the tsunami, earthquake and nuclear meltdowns, I know Japan will rise.

Like your painting of the sun, yes Japan will rise again, talked to a Japanese friend and they very much appreciate our concern for them.
