This is an unframed, original oil painting, entitled "Elizabeth's Irises." It is signed by me "Judith Rhue" and dated "2011" in the lower right corner. It is also painted on the sides.
Flowers from my sister-in-law's beautiful garden inspired this painting. Iris flowers do not last very long, so I decided to paint them. I took time with the background of this painting and added sculptural texture with a palette knife. I like the effect very much and plan to employ this technique more often.
